2022

Here we are … 2022

I’m not too keen on New Year’s resolutions as I don’t think a date stamp can magically make you a better person or photographer. But when another year has passed I always find myself looking back while I clean up my photo archive. I learn a lot from looking at the past year in the rearview mirror and it’s a good time to take stock of where I was, where I am and where I want to be.

As I’m editing and archiving the final pictures of 2021, it’s still too soon to fully understand what my photography ment in the last 365 days. But what I do already see is that I scratched some very interesting surfaces and even broke through the surface a couple of times. I can see a subconscious drift (back) to authentic simplicity, followed by a more conscious effort to get rid of the smoke and mirrors that get in the way of what really matters to me.

I have some ideas on how to move further and dig deeper. These ideas are still developing but I feel that I’m very near to share them. I’m planning to use the blog as a creative journal for the foreseeable future in order to give you a glimpse into my chaotic brain … and hopefully understand myself a bit better.

Happy New Year!
